Sorry if these are actually pretty stupid questions, I just love fooling around with my system and want to get a few things straight...

1. What does RCA stand for? (cables)

2. When connecting the RCA cables from an amp to a head unit, does it matter whether if they match up with positive/negatives on each unit? (they come in strands of two, does one have to connect to both positives and other both negatives?)

3. The wire that goes from your amp to your sub(s), what is it usually called?

4. Does this wire ^ have to match up with positive/negative too?

5. Why is the wire usually so thin if the wire powering the amp is so much larger like 0gauge or 4gauge?

Hmmmmmm that's all I think of for now, thanks a lot!

1. RCA is the company who made it

2. You have to worry about left/right speakers. The tip is positive, outside ring is negative.

3. Speaker wire

4. Absolutely, so you're not out of phase.

5. The power to the speakers doesn't have nearly as much amperage going through it as an amp would.

1. Really Cool Audio cables :)

2. You can also connect the yellow to the tv, while the red and the white can go to the xbox

3. Easy one, its called wire.

4. No, but then they would be out of phase, usually seen with inverted subs...

5. Thats because there are two wires instead of 1, ie 1+1 = 2 which would be the size of the big wire....:)

Seriously?....

Just having a little fun, I figured someone would post legit answers. The main point of it was to read bcae1.com. So in the end I did give OP some good advice.
