I spend some money here

http://www.woodcraft.com/

Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

Thats a big ol' bit.

I would look at one at 1/4Dia by 3/4Long or 1"Long

The more wood you cut away the harder the bit has to work, plus a bit like that would make a huge mess with mdf.

I use the 1/4'CD X 3/4"CL X 1/4"S Straight bit.

I think they are around 10 bucks each. Way better then the ol' cheapo's at HD.

I end up wearing mine out quickly even with the real nice ones with all the holes I have to cut for my system, so I go with a middle of the road bit and it works out real nice.

so for single hole cutouts and about a box a month i should get a few boxes out of it?

Well lets see....

I have 16 12's and did 4 boxes double stacked at 32 holes each box on one bit so I think you should be good for awhile
