sound xtreme Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 you might be able to strap 2 2channel amps together with a Maxx Link (not sure though). In order to strap 2 monoblock amps, you connect the negative outputs of both amps together, then the positive from the master amp connects to the negative speaker lead, the positive from the slave amp connects to the positive of the subwoofer. Also, this changes the "stability rating" of the amp. Instead of the amp being 1 ohm stable, the 2 strapped amps will have a stability of 2 ohms. EricR Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 So this guy keeps telling my cousin and me that the way he's always bridged his 2 channels was to take the positive from the subs and put it on the positive for the 1st channel, then take the negative from the subs and put it on the positive for the 2nd channel, and that it "drops the amp to a .25ohm and it runs so much cooler and makes it so you get your total watts to both your speakers". This sounds like a one way ticket to blow shit up to me. But all I hear about it is how they did that in all his installs. He's been trying to convince my cousin to do that with his 2 channel and my cousin keeps asking me about it and I keep telling him it sounds like he's gonna fuck some shit up. So he says "post about it on SMD and see what they think about it", well I'm sure I already know what y'all are gonna say but I want to hear everyone else's opinion on this. Here's a visual of what he's talking about doing. my awesome ms paint skills this guy obviously konws nothing about car audio. he probably thinks that running a 8 gauge remote is better also. damn noobs i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
