Bridging an amp the wrong way

So this guy keeps telling my cousin and me that the way he's always bridged his 2 channels was to take the positive from the subs and put it on the positive for the 1st channel, then take the negative from the subs and put it on the positive for the 2nd channel, and that it "drops the amp to a .25ohm and it runs so much cooler and makes it so you get your total watts to both your speakers". This sounds like a one way ticket to blow shit up to me. But all I hear about it is how they did that in all his installs. He's been trying to convince my cousin to do that with his 2 channel and my cousin keeps asking me about it and I keep telling him it sounds like he's gonna fuck some shit up. So he says "post about it on SMD and see what they think about it", well I'm sure I already know what y'all are gonna say but I want to hear everyone else's opinion on this.

yeah i did this on my first amp ever. I was 17 and it lasted like three weeks.

Drops it to .25 ohms? Does he have 2) subs with dual 1 ohm coils all connected in parallel? Probably not.

I have come across people who think connected an amp different ways changes your ohm load on the subs. I guess thats because they dont know anything about what they are talking about.

If you have 1) 4 ohm sub, the only ohm load you can ever have is 4 ohms.

Also, a bridged amp to a true .25 ohm load would make it incredibly hot, very distorted, and would probably go into protect all the time or blow right away.

Im a n00d at bridging amps. Ive never had the need to do it, never done it. So the image you drew, thats the right way? Sorry. like i said, new to bridging amps.
