I always wondered that too. Thanks!

Now does that mean "outlaw" means (doors open or windows down or meter on the headrest...) Lol, just a guess.

Edit: Sorry to TJ.

To my knowledge Legal numbers are achieved by following the DB Drag rules and their meter the Term Lab.

Try www.termpro.com and look for the rules.

As for me I don't believe any numbers that are gotten by any other methods.

I think the mic goes 13 inches from the passenger door and 5 or 6 inches up from the dash with the vehicle all sealed up.

Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

IIRC from one of Steve's hoopty vids Outlaw is with the passenger door open and the TermLab in the kick I'm not sure about the windows.

Doug has a little tool he uses that he places touching the a-pillar and the dash like an L and then a little slot where he puts the sticker for proper mic placement

db Drag defined the legal way of measuring.

sensor on windshield, 12" over from passenger side A pillar and 6" up from dash.

Outlaw was defined from USACI rules where the sensor is placed in the passenger side footwell near the kick panel.

The vehicle can be closed or opened. these scores can be 6db + higher than legal scores.

The sensor actually sits in a globe that is 6 or 8" in diameter so that the sensor is a few inches from any surface.
