killacam757 Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I have 2 Fi SSD 12's with a 1600 watt Hi fonics BXI 1600 ,going to be pushing 1600 watts RMS My question is would a 140 amp alternator and a 800 watt kinetik under the hood be ok? Running 0/1 gauge everywhere also. Or would i need a new alternator and a bigger battery?

Someone correct me if im wrong, but that amp does not do rated power, so I dont think you will be doing 1600watts RMS. If that kinetic batt is the HC800, stick with a batt like the HC1400 at least, for under the hood. So all in all, a good batt under the hood (HC1400, yellow top, powermaster, etc...) will be all you will need, PLUS you must do the BIGIII, dont do anything without doing this first. But you DO NOT NEED AN ALT. I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny

basshead4life Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 yeah you dont need a 140 amp alt but it wouldnt hurt if you got one Team S.M.D. Maritime Car Audio- (2) 18" SSA ZCON D1 - American Bass 500.1 - 60 ft of 3/0 -480 Ah of battery - (2) stock alternators (70 +90) - Kenwood Excelon x-794, 4v preouts car audio is just a LOT more complicated than "this amp does this power" or "this sub will be this loud". its like 2 + 2 = banana. (if that confuses you then you get the point) lol
