99vic Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 same thing happened to my level 4 15". first cone blew within a month and the level 5 recone i put on it lasted only 2 1/2 weeks. Rusty thought my amp was to blame too, but the amp was fine. i dont know what kind of power you were throwing at it, but my sub was seeing around 700-800rms with almost no voltage drop. since its so fresh, he might help you out. he pretty much told me that there was nothing he could do about it... are you sure you did the recone right? was the sub new when you got it the 1st time? if it was used thats the price you pay when buying used. are you sure you did the recone right the second time? i know the slightest mistake can be critical. op just wait for rusty. but letting your music play at idle could of been the problem. if you had your car off and playing thats worse.
