H 2 the eigel
Im working on a new project involving 2 15inch kicker L7s in a 12ft3 box tuned to 33-35hz ish... My question is do you go with more port area but with a chance of a weaker box, or less port area and easier to make a sturdy box with. Basically how much of a role does port area really have? brewer_brewer
^^^^thats true to a point and most of the time it is the most effecient amount of port space. sometimes its not though. and to the OP. yea port area has a huge role in the effeciency and sound of the box. audiofanaticz
more or less port area is not going to make a stronger or weaker box.
uluahunta808
if you think ur box is gonna be weaker just add bracing inside it like dowls or things like that

siucsaluki11
You dont HAVE to resin/glass the inside of the box. But if you dont, make sure you brace the hell outta it with allthread or 1" dowell rod. woman..cant live with em...cant shoot em...guess were all fucked You might be a Redneck if you use your leftover gutters for a speaker box port...
