dustin_shull Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 I'm about 3/4 the way done already with this build, however I still have to finish sealing off the bed from the cab 100%, do some sort of sound deadener, and add some more power. I'm running 4 RE Audio SEx 12's dual 2 ohm @ total 1ohm. The box is a fourth order bandpass, built out of 4ish sheets of 3/4" MDF and a contractors pack of screws and liquid nail, tuned at 48hz. The amp i'm using for now is a Power Acoustik BAMF 5500, but i plan on going with something a "wee bit" better as soon as my funds are built back up. Here are a few pics of what I have going on. I'll keep updating this as progress continues. So far, the best I have done with the system (only been in the truck for 2 weeks) is a 148 @ 32 hz on termlab and the headrest and the doors sealed, thats with stock alternator and 1 battery, so hopefully with a little bit more power i can be in the 150's Here are a few pics.....

With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

When I got metered they put the mic on a stand on my seat, so i'm guessing thats considered "at the headrest". I was really surprised myself about 2 things, how "musical" the box is, and how good that $250 amp powers those subs lol. But there again, as soon as I can get my funds built up I'll get a "decent" amp..... suggestions welcome...

If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:

I have a design for a 4th order bandpass for my car, tuned to 48hz, and temped to build it, just didnt want a "one note box". Nice subs too, love the SEs

It really likes lows though, like Lil Wyte, lil jon, e40,etc... it even gets down pretty good to some Alan Jackson and Korn. When I was metered the box was 144ish and up from around 30hz-42hz....but that is where i have the strongest passband (going by WinISD). However, I feel like my amp is REALLY holding my back with this thing, for the money it's been awesome, but I think its time to upgrade..... any suggestions??
