wL<3bass Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 I want some of the big groundpounders advice....if you havent had to fix your roof please don't comment because I'm not trying to waste my time/money doing things that don't work. So does anyone have an good idea on how fix your roof....I broke two of my roof braces in my blazer and I'm thinking of using Great Stuff foam to keep the braces from slapping....I was wondering would if adhering mdf panels to my roof would make it flex less.....but at the same time I don't want it to continue to flex and make them fall off.... and YES I have my roof deadened with 3 layers it's just not helping much. I sanded the area as best I could, then I used a cold weld metal epoxy all between the roof and the brace, then I wrapped deadener over the brace and onto the roof skin. I havent had a problem since. In other cars I have screwed and glued MDF to the braces and sprayed great stuff up under the MDF and that worked out well too. Good info....yeh its the one right behind my sunroof and then the one all the way to the rear of the truck where the subs load onto the roof. I added 3/4 mdf glued to the roof and screwed to beams, then spray foamed every hole, then put the sound deadner over the mdf and roof bows.....
