n8ball2013
DD has an 8 guage lead as well. It's not about the size of the motor its about the characteristics of it. Berto
im not trying to sound like im praising at all.. i like DD subs and i like DC subs im jus sayin this thread is pointless without testing lol Not to make this a bigger argument, but since you the only one that has written back and said that you have tested both then you should just tell the op what you saw in both and what was better from each of the two companies/subs. I mean that is what he was asking: then explain why dc over dd. i want to know. thats why i started this thread. EDIT: And with the post #11 now. loburbon
i have used damn near every dd sub available, i have only seen the dc sub. so i stated what i thought visually. i want to know from the people who have used them both how they sound and hold up compared to the dd subs. thats all Quote 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150

Eric B
ok thank you. thats all i was trying to find out. do they have a cleaner clearer bass line The DC imo yea it does, the DD 9500 i heard had a deep hollow sound to it and the DC sounded cleaner imo but both do get about equally loud Quote 2007 Chevy HHR LT UNDER CONSTRUCTION 1st Place Loud N Low 2010 MWSPL Finals 3rd Place Xtreme 3 2010 MWSPL Finals
loburbon
see all the 9500's i have used never had that hollow sound. after seeing the subs and finally reading why people like the dc's, i really do want to try them out. airspace and port wise do they like bigger or smaller then the dd's Quote 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150
AI James
ive used almost every series of both, i find the DD to be more fool proof in most setups. unloading is probably the only things ive seen people do with DD's never really coil frying. hell i put 8k to a 3512 composite cone for about 20 mins and she took it like a champ. but then again people put a crapload on DC subs and get simular results. i just personally feel more at ease abusing a DD woofer then a DC one. Both are decent sounding subs so im not taking that away from either one, just some offerings like the 1508 series are just sex imo
