Does Mid Bass kill speakers? clear this up for me!

my good buddy and go to guy up here tuned my component amp which is just a kenwood 4 channel, running only 1 channel so only getting half the power they need, How would I go about Bridging it, just adding a wire or 2 to the B side?

Secondly, my High Pass Filter is set at 150-200, not 80 so I have hardly any mid bass but thats because he said itll just blow the speakers, im wondering if this is true? Or if an unproper tuned amp (the gain wasnt set right) and HPF at 80 kills speakers?

I dont see how midbass on a correctly tuned amp would do any damage besides just normal wear down if no clipping is involved. An amp that is not tuned correctly could definately do some damage

No midbass won't kill your speakers if the amp is tuned properly and your not bottoming the mids or clipping them.... I myself have mine crossed at 55-60hz.
