majorpayne Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I would go with the btl's but the dd's are sexy. Id give them around 2000-2500 daily, i wouldnt try to push 4000 right off the bat You dont have alot of experience with that much power and 4000 watts will kill subs REAL quick if something isnt right. ie gains to high, too big of a box, playing way below tuning without ssf. They will still get hella loud with 2000 a piece
sean 371 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Why does everyone think they can start off with a 16000 watt system??? People who are running BTL's know what the hell theyre doing. They've been at this for a long time and they can handle building a box tough enough to handle it, and know how to hook up and tune such a system. 4 BTL's is not a damn starter system. For your first system, stick with 1 or 2 type r's or something man. Geez. This kinda stuff pisses me off. A couple links to some box builds: Tahoe Box 1, Tahoe Box 2, Nissan Titan, VW GTI, Mini-Bump, Hummer H2, Ford F-150 My own car builds (current setup --- under construction): Overall Thread, Kickpods, Dash, Back Doors Subwoofer Wall
Chris Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Didn't you just build a box for the 4 Type R's you have? Also, you do know that 4 15" BTL's are going to run you almost $2K plus even on a budget, another $2.5-$3K to power them. 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR.
Guest Nismofreak Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 (edited) Get a ssd sub from fi as a start or get a type r since you are a alpine fan. Get a Alpine amp because rf for you now at this time can cost to much. Edited April 3, 2007 by Nismofreak
