siucsaluki11
So this wed Im going to be building a new box since i have the day off and have some money finally. Decaf may come by and give me a hand then go play some disc golf. My current box is 5 cubic feet tuned to 30 Hz. The port is tiny. The subs are Clarion PXW 1251s. Im giving them probably around 400 each (kenwood amp doesnt do rated im willing to bet on that) But i may be getting a better amp (old rockford possibly) for them. I like the way my current setup sounds on rap and thats about it, some rock it really lacks but that could be due to having my HP set at 70Hz otherwise it clips the signal (even on a 50Hz tone). My port on my current box is very small. Im thinking of doing the same box or something like 4.5 cubes at 33Hz. Current design i wanna do is 5 cubes, 30 Hz, 17.4 in/cube, is that too much port? Heres a pic Other thing ive been wanting to try is a T-line for them. It will fit, if drawn it out. Fs of the subs is 30 Hz, i could take the time to do one for that (not building till wed) or i could use this one i did at 35Hz. What do you guys think. jacobbz
the 30hz will give you a little more SQ but the 35hz will give you a little more SPL, depends on what your looking to do with your car. Gotloud555
That's huge box and what vehicle are you putting in? It look alright. I don't like 30 hz that much because it not even loud for me but you like that frequency then go fo you..
Decaf
too much port in the 1st one t-line should be tuned to the fs just do 5cuft@32hz braced well with a double kerfed port with those subs and amp
