Crump Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Ok so usually i sit at 14+ volts full tilt. Lets say 14-14.2 @ full. But when i turn my car off and then back on (like if im running errands around town) It will drop like .2-.3 volts each time. The voltage is always the highest the 1st time I turn my car on for the day. At the end of my day today i sat at my lowest at all time, 13.4. I know this voltage is not bad for my car or my amps, but i dont understand why this happens. In the winter ill sit at 14.8... in the summer im a full volt lower.... If you dont dip past 14 at full tilt then ur good to go man, i wouldnt worry about it. I dip into the low 12's with 4kwrms... tons of batts and a HO put alt, so im jelous.

newls1 Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Sounds all normal to me. I have 2 DC Power alts, 2 9A31 AGM batts in rear, yellow top under hood, MLA 15.4v module. With this summer hot ass heat here in the ATL area of GA, I'll start out in the morning @ 15.4/15.5v and after all alts have warmed up, and full titl, I dip into the 13.8-14.2 range. When It was cold out side, 15.6v start up, and NEVER dropped below 14.6 @ full tilt. What your going thru seems totally normal. Once alts build up so much heat, they have to back down a little to compensate. I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
