zfrerichs Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 think about that. if you tune your box to 35-40, and play ANY frquency lower than that; the subs will have over excursion and get sloppy. thats a good way to blow a sub (i would know, ive done it) the reason the cone was waving is because the sub was seeing a lot of power while playing a note lower than it should. the lighter cone material is partially to blame as well. just make sure to set your subsonic control correctly to prevent bad things from happening. i like these subs a lot regardless of how much power they take. for the money, they really cant be beat by the other companies out there. Who are you trying to school bro? I ain't a newbie and I doubt any of the other guys are eitherAnd just because the cone has " lighter" material doesn't mean they aren't strong and if your talking about playing below tuning and it will get sloppy you must be talking about some soft or weak spiders I wasn't meaning the cone was rocking from a phasing issue or a poorly designed box just the cone material was soft and could be pushed in like a piece of Tupperware plastic but from other guys talking this issue has been phased out and I am glad to hear it because this is a good sub for the price and overall Roseville, CA

Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. Arson d(-__-)b beer sucks...but i can bring some jose cuervo. Only problem is that it makes me horny and gives me the rams. So unless yall wanna fight and then have some great make up sex i will leave it home.

I did a 20+ minute full tilt demo the other day, just lowering volume now and then to change songs or whatever. Subs never even got stinky, but my left ear didn't do so well....

I'd consider the alum coils at that power level, but talk to DJ first as his new copper coils are supposed to be quite strong. Also realize with that much cone area/power you won't be playing it full tilt for more then a few minutes at a time anyway as it will be quite painful...
