jr21181
Looking to do a build in my extended cab sierra. Was wondering how much deadener did you use and if your still getting roof flex or rattling?
smokeumtires
Chevys are notorious for roof flex.... the ONLY way to get rid of it is to brace it. TRUST ME 2 roofs later and Im STILL cracking metal

-Hobby-
Yea I have 2 layers of deadner on the roof and it still does a pretty good wave on the right songs. I used RamMatt on most of the truck. I have about 1 1/2 rolls installed. All the doors inside and outside, back wall, some of the floor and the whole roof. I also foam filled all the roof supports with GreatStuff. It helps but once you reach a certain point all hell breaks loose on these extended cab roofs. Things are like tin cans. Deadener? I run 6 layers down the center of my roof and 3-4 down the sides (Secondskin), wood shims to fill the gaps between the braces and the roof, plus GreatStuff. My roof used to wang, now it still moves, but maybe 1/5th as much.
