lance_aka_64 Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 it pays to tell the truth. i got pulled over for some stupid stuff a couple times and i didn't have a license either time. first thing i would say when the cop gets to my car is say i don't have a license. at those two times i also didn't have insurance, but since i was straight up with them about my license they didn't even ask if i had insurance. also they never towed my car. one cop told me to call someone to come and drive it home and the other told me i could do the same or wait til the cop pulled off and make sure he didn't see me i could drive it home. no insurance tickets here are 300 bux alone. Yea i live in Rock Island and the 75ft instant impound and fine is dumb.. seems there a little more leanient were you live at least on the fine they give you. but it still sucks.Do you know for sure that they do that in this area? I live in East Moline and was just curious if you'd had experience with the cops being that strict about it. Cr@sh Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 yeah i didnt realy think i could do anything about it. i was just wondering if anyone had any stories of saying a bunch of bs in court to get it dismissed. i think i should have been more clear in my title, everyone seems to be misinterpreting it. the "bs" i was speaking of in the title was more of the fact that i got my car towed away for a sound violation, and that it all costed 300 dollars, not because i got caught and couldnt get away with it. i realize that by blaring my shit im always going to be taking a chance of getting pulled over and ticketed. i just thought the overall punishment was quite severe for playin a sub...Unfortunetly the fines seem to be steadly increasing, I asked my brother if he has ever pulled anyone over for it and he said no. He said most cops in Farmington hills don't bother becuase there's so much other serious stuff going on. As someone who has tried to fight tickets in the past that were questionable, I have lost almost everyone. The only time I win is if the cop doesnt show up and its rare becuase my brother say's it's like a vacation day to them! what an ass huh? lol The only thing you can do is setup what is called an "Informal hearing" where you will meet with the cop who wrote you the ticket and prosecuting attorney. During this meeting you will want to appologize to the cop first off and explain that this is a first offense for sounds and that it will never happen again and is there anything they can do to help you lower the fines, explain your finacial situation. Just be polite and understand there human, they may help you and they may say no chance! It's a risk either way but if you have already been given tickets for this then don't bother.
