yeah I put it in mine it's supposed to smooth the music wave or something like that so that your bass comes out cleaner if you look into it theres a more technical answer than mine. here's a picture of mine so you have an idea025.jpg

no they can be used in ported enclosures also. It is also used when the size of the enclosure has to be at a minimum, the polyfil kinda "tricks" the subs into thinking that the enclosure is bigger than what it really is. In a ported enclosure you just have to make sure to put some chicken wire near the port to keep the stuff from blowing out ;)

in sealed boxes it's supposed to fool the woofer into thinking the box is bigger by slowing the bass wave from the woofer in ported boxes is does something similar by smoothing it's exit from the port I dont get any port noise or turbulence even on the most forceful lowest notes If you have seen steve meads vidz using the o scope you see the sound wave then if its clips it stops being smooth and gets choppy same difference

Go to a local fabric store and pick some up. It's much cheaper that way. I got a 5 pound bulk box at Hancock Fabrics for about $20.

My comp setup (Not bad for what it is):

HP Compaq Presario V6120US laptop with:

15.4" widescreen

AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz processor

2x1GB stick DDR2 SDRAM (667 Mhz)

Seagate Momentus 500GB SATA HDD

128MB shared video memory

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

12 cell Lithium Ion battery (actual battery usage time: 6 hours)

What it does:
