marquettefan247
Well its finally time to start my build log here on the forum. Going into my 2000 chevy cavalier is 1 15" kicker L7 powered by a power acoustik bamf 2000/D. Kicker 4 gauge wire kit, rockford fosgate rcas and a kenwood mp208. Today I started out with box building. My box is 16x27x16. It's about 3 cubic feet before sub displacement. I know people say make it bigger, but I don't have the room. This is what I am working with pretty nice right first pieces Edited September 15, 2009 by marquettefan247 Quote 1995 Ford Mustang 3.8l V6 5 Speed Plans: 2 12 inch dc Level 4s DC 2.0k Amp KCA 1/0 Power Amplifier Installation Kit 220 Amp Alt XS Power 12V D925 AGM Battery Stinger Volt Gauge Rockford Fosgate RCAs Box built from birch. marquettefan247
Well I got bored waiting around so I sanded the edges and made em nice and smooth. Well I found a problem. The board is a tad bit long and sticks out a little bit. Should I belt sand it? Any suggestions of what I should do? enemyofsilence
are u going to carpet it? if so, then the overlap should be a big prob. the carpet should cover it up. is this box going to be ported or sealed? so far so good Quote Team Bass-Hz
zfrerichs
you mean the 1/8 of an inch or the 3/4 inch hanging off i think you mean the 1/8th you can belt sand but be careful not to take to much off or just grab some 36 grit and sand it off by hand Quote Roseville, CA
mbdblue
shit man I want walls like that! Id belt sand the difference just cuz Id know it was there under the carpet... marquettefan247
Thanks for the input, ENEMYOFSILENCE this is a sealed box and it is my first official box build. I am gonna carpet it but I have a palm sander that with the right grit will take it right off. Ive been working on this box since 9 this morning til 4:30. We mainly over cut or had wavy sides and couldn't use the table saw so we had to jig saw it. My friend has a steady hand and made the board level with the jigsaw. I will probably carpet it in a week or two, but idk with school starting soon.
