herbykw Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 I have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS with a Solo X 18" in a 5.5 cube tuned to 38 hertz powered by a AQ2200. It aint bad, but i want to be LOUD. I want to be able to at least pull a hair trick, or make sure if you aint used to it, that it hurts your ears. I dont know the easiest way to do this. Do I.... a. Make a bigger box and/or change tune? (can only make up to about 6.5 cubes) b. andym85 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 never been a fan of 18s in a trunk (unless its walled). i would do two 12s (or 15s, depending on how much space and how practical it would be) and more power. if the back seat folds down, i would fire the subs and port forward, sealed off from the trunk... a hair trick will be difficult in a trunk regardless (unless walled ) i likes me some audio stuff...

I cant wall it, and wouldnt mind doing a blow through if i can rig it like i have seen before, blowing through were the armrest folds down. Pics would be helpful. My trunk isnt very tall, so i could only face the sub up into the lid(i know it sucks), and i faced the port forward. It isnt much to look at. andym85 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 like the pics below....these are the 10s i had in my trunk. they wanged...even had some guy stop me while i was driving and asked me what the hell i had in there....NOBODY believed it was only two 10s and 1200 watts....did 43's on music all day long...swear to god! i likes me some audio stuff...
