VaBeachKevin Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Is there anywhere a chart that says the minimum electrical requirements per rms wattage? For example something like 0 to 1k watts - stock electrical, 1k to 2k watts - upgrade stock battery + 1/0 wire, etc? 99 Ford Explorer Sport Alpine 9886 Infinity 7541a JL 12w3 Viper 771xv

datboifrank Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 p1000-1bd amp at one ohm is a little more than a 1000 watts rms and i have a pretty big voltage drop wen the deck is only at 15 and it goes up to 35... so i would say around 800rms to stay on the safe side and prob. get the full 800..

Not to start a long thing here but are you sure you have your gains set propperly.I used to run a 2002 RF BD1000 in a 94 Honda Accord and my only mod was I changed out the starter battery for a Stinger SP1000 and didn't have a bad voltage drop. evolution.vc Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Like everyone here is saying depends on your ride. I had (2) 12" Memphis Mojos and (2) DEI2400 amps running them and they did GREAT! SLAMMING HARD! I would get a really low voltage drop only when pushing them to there limit.

loganberry Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 i still have my stock alternator, 4 batteries total, 4 runs of 0 gauge from front to rear, big 3 basically everything i can do, im running a stetsom 7kd, and crunch pzi.900-4, im dropping to 11.7-11.9 at 2k rpm, no my voltage is shitty, but my alternator is only a 130amp, as soon as the bass stops, it jumps right back up to 13.9-14.0 volts My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk
mad drunx Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 In my wife's car I lose volt's and the light's dim bad at 500 watt's rms, so it depend's on the ride and system. wunna play halo?

maniac74 Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 I dont want to sound like a moron but what is the big 3 upgrade? I have a 2 amps running on my stock electrical and i get heavy light dimming but i may have a messed up alt. if i stomp the accellerator on my truck and i'm bumping the voltage will drop off so much my dash light comes on for me to check guages when i do the volt have dropped to around 11 volts?? if i'm running at normal everyday speeds ie: highway it charges fine. would the big 3 do anything for this? 99 suburban 20" boss motorsport wheels big 3 installed (thanks Iraggi) alpine 9886 deck kenwood 11 band eq fosgate t5002 amp running sub kenwood ps200 amp running components jl xr components in front doors jl xr 6.5 in rear doors jl in rear roof 1 FI Q 18" with bp enclosure 8 cubes 138 sq" port 34hz Iraggi 220 ho alt (RF 1500bd coming soon)
