Sundown Audio

Okay I have been looking, researching and thinking and I have started the planning stages of finally piecing together my new system. I want the Sundown SAZ-3500D for the Camry. I have found an alternator that does roughly 175 amps @ idle, I am going to get at least one D3100 for the trunk. Do I need two? also for the one under the hood I have the biggest one Wal-Mart sells for my car, do I need to replace that with something else as well? Thanks in advance

The 3500 "can" draw "up to" 400 amps.... get the biggest alt you can.... I would get two d3100's in the back if you can't get a big alt.

Who makes a bigger alternator for my 01 Camry? The biggest I have heard of is a 200 amp

to add to that ...i would also get the biggest XS Power batt that will fit for under the hood also...

all of this.

the 3500 is a monster.

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

I would guess a 3500 would pull 150 to 200 amps at half volume so if your alt only makes 175, and your car itself draws around 40 to 50 amps... your gonna need a good amount of battery reserve.

If this is any help to you I run a pair of 2000d's which probably have a little bit more current draw then a 3500. I run 2 XS Power D3100's in the rear and a single Deka Intimidator G34 up front. I sit at 14.6 idle and drop down to 11.9 on a full tilt burp. I only have the stock 110 amp alt though so I know that has a bit to do with it, but everything that Gary and DJ said is true and should probably be considered. I know that it's a bitch to spend all that money on electrical but it will prolong your equiptment and you will thank yourself in the long run for it. Not to mention that it will sound better and will be louder too.

I'm running a 3500 at ½ohm with rise to 1.3 on 3 kinetick 2000's, a red top up front along with the stock bat and dual 270sp alt's from dc power and an MLA. I can stay in the 14's voltage wise while driving. At idle it wont go lower then 13's. I wanta stay in the high 14's at idle so im looking to upgrade tp 3 D3100's here shortly and do some ground wire work.

in my testing at 1 ohm 2 D3100's and 300amps of alt will be perfect for the 3500 but if you go down to .5 ohm you need to have 3 D3100s thats playing music at about 1000RPMs
