So i guess as one of the more senior audio people in town let me try to strighten this out. 1. RE FTW!!! I dont know much about the other brand of speaker you guys are argueing over but with any type of audo equipent you get a good rule to follow is you get what you pay for. RE is the current spl competition champs in about every sound clarity and spl class people make. All of the different models are built for a different purpose such as clarity or competition and whatnot and there amazing at what they do. I was speaking with a guy over the weekend that had 2 of there competition 12s in a magunm and while he had it at about half volume i couldnt get withing a couple feet of the doors without my head pounding. Graned he had alot of alternators and highs to match everything with it being a sound car but still you cant say that about many subs. 2. Who gives a fuck if i guy couldnt blow some windows out of a tahoe with some 18s? They suck and theres a reason competition built sound vehicles stick with 15s instead of all of those 18s and 32s and other for show size speakers. But even more then that is this magical thing called cabin pressure. You guys are comparing a full size suv to a civic you could fit in the suv twice!!! Spl is measured by how much air the subs move and how much pressure it creates inside of the vehicle. This pressure is caused by vibration change due to the movement of the sub. So you can expect for something bigger to require more movement to get the same level of sound. So its no suprise that 2 15 would destroy the windows in a small civic. While a bunch of unuseful 18s can barley sound as loud as the 15's On a side note a lot of sound competitors are switching all the way down to 12s because of how tight the transitons to different frequencies are and they can use that to get to higher spls. But anyway enough argueing this thread is about someone having a 15 to sell so that cold traikoff can get some new bumps.
