loburbon
it all depends on how smart you are with your volume knob and gain. if you clip the shit out of em then thats way too much. but you dont need 1500 on them lil guys. 800-1000 will be more then enough Quote 2000 gmc yukon 4 sundown Zv3 15's 4 dd m2a's kenwood kdc-x994 2 batcap 4000's 1 batcap 2000 dual alts. 154@37hz and climbing http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3231683 http://www.myspace.com/torque150
siucsaluki11
I was planning on gettin an AQ2200D for the 3 of them. What tuning do they like? I was thinkin around 38 Hz cuz i know AQs drop way below tuning and i know AQ and DD are very similar products. doug118
first I want to say sorry to the OP for sort of threadjacking, I just have questions about the same subs and don't want to make a separate thread I may get 2 to start with and then buy 2 more if I like them, which is why I was thinking of just getting 1 3kw amp. instead of buying 1 amp that better suites the first 2, then possibly a 2nd amp if I buy 2 more Quote 2001 Tahoe. siucsaluki11
Well, i wont be doing this for a few months, but i got a design worked up, just under 3 cubes tuned to 36Hz for 3 DD1508's What you guys think? Heard from someone else with the same body style lancer that they had good results with subs back port to the passanger side wheel well, i can try passanger and driver and see what i like better. And i could also make one for subs and port back. I got enough time till i start the build to work on kerf cuts. My last attempt failed pretty hard. loburbon
dd plays well below there tuning. tune the box to 37hz and you'll be happy. also give each sub .9cuft after displacments. make sure that you give the subs 20sqin of port per cube. this seems like alot, but it has been tested by myself and many, many other dd dealers. the 8's work best in .9cuft with 20sqin. so if your doing 3 of them make the box 2.7cuft with 60sqin of port after displacments. by doing so you eliminate the need for a loading wall. So, subs back port back then or still go subs back port to side? Ill go for 37, originally it was 38-39 but i figured id try 36 and if i didnt like it, build again, but time to design another one, as soon as i know how to face eveything. (also, port to the side works well for the space im workin with, if the box gets any wider ill probably have trouble getting it in the trunk. AI James
trust me those numbers are not inflated. those lil 8's are sick. i did a 07 tahoe with a pair of 1508's on a dd ss1 and it did a 140@39hz. jeramiha ledgerwood hit a sb record when it first came out, he did a 152.8 in sb2. those numbers are offical ive messed with some myself and they were loud for what they are, but i have only seen them in conventional reg ported boxes nothing spl wise of anythign like that.
