CallMeTy Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Im trying to make sure i dont blow anything up seeing that it will be my first time. and instead of being quiet and not asking questions i decided to ask it anyway so i can have a lil knowledge at least before i jump into it. Like the title says alpine 6.5 type r, DAT 4125 on the way, and i think knukonceptz 1/0 KLM wiring kit (or do i have to get a 4chann. amp kit). i have to pick a fuse and the highest i can pick is 250a. but on the wire/fuse guide it says for 0g i should have a 325a? anyone can help me out. and doesnt the dat 4125 have fuses built in? so i only need one at the batt correct? 1999 Altima 5spd HU: Alpine CDA-9887 Frnts: CDT audio 6.5 Components Rears: Alpine Type R 6.5 Components Speaker Amp: DAT HR4125 Subs: 2 AQ HDC3 15's coming soon Sub Amps:(2)US MD2D Wiring: Stinger
Guest Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 dont the 4125's have 4 gauge inputs? you dont need a fuse that large. go with the amount of fusing that the amp requires.

Guest Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 4x125 (does about 150 a channel or so) wouldnt require 0 gauge. and yes it is a 4 channel amp so you would need a 4 channel kit.

finkster Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Holy shit the misguidance on this thread. The 4125 has 8 gauge power and ground. They have external fuses, but you should still fuse near the battery as always. 1/0 is unnecessary right now, save some cash and run 8 gauge. Fuse the wire near the battery with an 80 amp fuse. Its an 80 amp fuse because you want to fuse for the wire, not what the amp is running. You can run 4 gauge if you desire, but 1/0 is a waste if you dont plan on going big in the near future. You will need a 4 channel RCA or (2) 2 channel RCAs. Hit me up if you need any help setting it up, as I own one myself.... No you don't need 1/0 but if you do get it now, it will be one less thing to get later when you get a good bass amp If you do run 1/0 then you will want to get a distribution block to reduce the wire down to fit for the 4125. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
