while i was riding in my car today i wuz bumping some lil wayne n all of the sudden my amp shuts off. So i pull up in a parking lot n check it out no buring smell so i kno the amp wasnt blown but also no protect light was on but when i popped the hood the fuse holder was so hot that it melted the plastics casing. A friend of mine said that the fuse holder was to small i think it was a 100 a fuse in it but my amp is 4000 watts (not rated at that high...lanzar) so what should i do

1.) What gauage wire are you running.

2.) Where are your grounds connected to.

Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

ground is in good spot most likely.

you may or SHOULD up your gauge, you want to run 4000 watts through 4gauge.. i dont think.... to my knowledge.. it should be that way..

100a fuse sounds ok for 4gauge but i'm pretty sure your amp was trying to pull lot more through your power wire than it could handle..

same thing happened to me, my fuse holder melted...
