blackhole Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 def not on the discount. about the shared chamber thing idk if all the subs are going to be on the same amp, id say no, its too many individual chambers and loads n stuff on one amp id just do it shared itll be easier to build too IMO as stated above i´m kinda on a budget with this project so i was wondering what would be the best way to go on amps? by being on budget i mean that i don't want to buy like some top price stuff while something cheaper might give me exactly the same power and be just as durable. i havent got a confirmed rms wattage on the mofo 15's but i have been seeing 1500 rms per sub flying around. what kind of amp configuration would be the best bang for the buck? one? two? three? six? and what amps would be the right ones for my application??? sorry for showering you guys with this kind of silly questions but i really want to avoid choosing wrong components or spend way more money than i really needed to get the same results. and as there are no dealers here in iceland carrying the kind of high power systems i'm looking to set up in my car, i don't have the chance to try anything out before i buy it. thanx again and sorry for being a noob
P4killer_ Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 i mean i was just throwing the mofo out there. its a good sub for sure but by no means is the end all sub.. ya know as far as amps, well what is your budget for amps if you plan on running rms to each the 6 subs assuming you get mofos thats 9000 watts which is not going to be cheap in any regard. also if your even thinking of running 3000 or more you def need the electrical to support it and for 9kw your going to need alot alternator(s) and several batteries 5-6 min like kinetik hc2400's or something i am by no means an expert on any of these topics, but if it were me, id first evaluate how good your electrical is because if you only have the electrical to support 3kw, thats all you got even if your amps can put out a million, besides running amps way under voltage isnt good in the least. so really you need to decide your total budget man. 170 per sub ok how much for amps? how much for electrical ie:. alternator, batteries, wiring , misc its possible you have some of things already --> if so itd be nice to know:p bottom line your only as good as your weakest component so there no sense in buying 1500w subs if you only can put 300w to each. hopefully someone else will chime in but we really need some more info. blackhole Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 i have decided to go with the mofo's as i can't find enough dirt on them to sway me away. i will be upgrading my whole system as i go, i'm already pretty sure that i will be needing three alternators to get me the approx 800 amps at 14.4 and some batteries to go with them. my budget is whatever i need to finish this, but at a sensible price. (no more than needed but without sacrificing power or reliability) i'm going to order the subs in one go and build the box. then i will be ordering the other stuff one by one as i have the money to pay for it. i currently have 200 amp alternator and two batteries rated over 1000 cc amps. so if my calculations are right, i can start using the six subs on up to 2500 watts before i need to upgrade to stronger and more alternators. my car already has one zero gauge wire to the amp but i will be adding extra zero gauge for every 1500 rms watts i add to the system. long story short, i will be buying the subs this month and work on the new box then i'm going to buy extra alts and amps as my project progresses paycheck to paycheck lol. i'm trying to put together the list of things i need so i can make a build and cost plan. then over the next months i will be buying the stuff piece by piece. and as my time is limited anyway for how much free time i have for working on the project, it suits me fine doing this in small steps. amp one month and alternator the next month and so on. i'm going to have some fun with this project and take my time instead of rushing things. i'm 33 years old and i'm starting to like taking my time while i'm upgrading and working on my projects. as this is my daily driver it works out fine this way as it will not be out of service for days by doing things step by step. thanx again for taking the time to help me out
Guest Cobrastang98 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 For like 170 per 15, you can find BNIB RE SEs or AQ SDC2.5s and FI SSD/IA LIs for a lil bit more.

I have no idea what you just said... I don't get why you'd want to get lower quality products, when you can get higher quality at the same price. Guest Cobrastang98 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 IA 187s can be found for significantly under the $170 mark and are a better quality than the other subs mentioned.

It's like having the ability to buy a brand new BMW for $15k and buying a Kia. i live in iceland, after shipping i need to pay toll of both the subs and shipping. im lucky if 150 dollar product is only 300 after the tolls. my income is probably lower than average person in the usa has for the same job and everything costs twice as much even more. i have been trying to find some place where i can find rock solid information on different subwoofer comparison price vs quality but i havent found any that fits my budget. buying six subs for 160 each mounts to 960 dollars so after shipping and tolls it will be somewhere around 2300 dollars. sure if i find better quality subs that perform better at the same price i will go for them instead, it goes without saying that i want the best subs out there but i cant afford them.

I'm sure it would be easier just to find a local dealer somewhere in Europe that's closer to you than the USA is. Just look for whatever woofers u want and see if they have dealers in parts of Europe that are closer to you. IMO it will be the most cost effective way for you to buy things.
