My Kenwood KAC-9104D just isn't getting it done. I mean, it's powering my subs nicely, but it just doesn't give me what I want. I'm looking at getting a Power Acoustik BAMF-2000/1D amp.

Comparison:

KAC-9104D RMS Power Rating:

* 4 ohms: 500 watts x 1 chan.

* 2 ohms: 900 watts x 1 chan.

* 1 ohm: >900 watts x 1 chan.

Max power output: 1800 watts x 1 chan.

BAMF-2000/1D RMS Power Rating:

* 4 ohms: 600 watts x 1 chan.

* 2 ohms: 900 watts x 1 chan.

* 1 ohms: 1200 watts x 1 chan.

Max power output: 2000 watts x 1 chan.

Reason I like the BAMF-2000/1D is the bass knob. My 9104D is a pain in the ass for me. Takes way to much effort to adjust the bass on it. Gotta fiddle with that, change this, click that...I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF TIME!!! Lol. Now, I know I can get loads better (like a RF T1000-1bd) but I don't have that kind of cash.

So, my questions are (i feel like a tard for asking them):

Should I get it? Yes it's a minor improvement, but I want a bass knob, and I don't feel like having to physically wire one in.

Would it be worthwhile?

Would the RF dual knob bass control work with BAMF-2000/1D?

Thats it.

your kenwood puts out more true power than than that PA. if you just want a bass knob added use this in the RCAs. Bass Knob

EDIT its not really a bass knob but its basicly the same

Team S.M.D.

Maritime Car Audio- (2) 18" SSA ZCON D1

- American Bass 500.1

- 60 ft of 3/0

-480 Ah of battery

- (2) stock alternators (70 +90)

- Kenwood Excelon x-794, 4v preouts

car audio is just a LOT more complicated than "this amp does this power" or "this sub will be this loud". its like 2 + 2 = banana. (if that confuses you then you get the point) lol

well they are a little diff. the knobs that come w/ most amps are gain adjustments as to where most people add an RCA knob, they crank up the gain and BB only adding distortion

Well, any amps along the lines of what the PA "says" it's putting out and roughly in the same price range?

Roughly 200 bucks, give or take. Will probably save up for awhile so when I buy it, I still have cash left over. So I'd say within the 200 dollar range. I know it's a limited field, but there are quality amps out there in that range...right?
