tristan560 Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 So what are the cons of running a SSD 15 in 2-2.5 cubes after displacements. Ported off 1100w tuned to 35. Versus same sub in a 3-3.5 cube box. 99 Jimmy SLT 4WD Systemless. 99 Grand Prix GTP DC XL 12 on 1.5k tuned lowwwwww.

Marlo Stanfield Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 Well ive noticed from my testing.. you get higher impedance rise in smaller enclosures This is pretty much a common theme with smaller enclosures. 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer... tristan560 Posted October 6, 2009 Author Report Posted October 6, 2009 I'm just worried about loosing low end output. 99 Jimmy SLT 4WD Systemless. 99 Grand Prix GTP DC XL 12 on 1.5k tuned lowwwwww.
audiofanaticz Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 The driver will take a hell of a lot more power to get even semi-loud ( I see a 142-143db legal hard to get, esp out of a trunk). The driver will not unload the best due to the small non efficient box. Your speaker would need close to double its rms to get kinda loud roughly.
tristan560 Posted October 6, 2009 Author Report Posted October 6, 2009 I really wanna get rid of my wall. It's the system in my sig. 4 15s off about 5k. But my max dim are 38.5x20x28. 99 Jimmy SLT 4WD Systemless. 99 Grand Prix GTP DC XL 12 on 1.5k tuned lowwwwww.
audiofanaticz Posted October 6, 2009 Report Posted October 6, 2009 I'm just worried about loosing low end output. Well, consider it gone. I really wanna get rid of my wall. It's the system in my sig. 4 15s off about 5k. But my max dim are 38.5x20x28. It will sound no where near your 4 15s walled. Im assuming your just going to build a box for all 4 15s then? IMO You would be better off taking that 5krms you got, and build 1 decent box for the 2 15s, and keep the other 2 for spairs or sell them. It is fact that a 10 inch driver will outperform a 12 inch driver if the 12 inch driver is confined too to small of a space. (using the same power, vehicle box, etc).
