EricR
mine is screwed to a few 2x4's on the bottom that are bolted into the brackets for the seat Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? HHR Ed
I either build a frame in the car first, like framing a house. And then add the sheets to the frame. Or, I make molds and pour in my own composite liquid that hardens to form my enclosure. HHR Ed
BTW, the frames are either a steel cage that is then welded to the car, or 2x4s bolted to the car. rawlins87
im pretty sure the way those boxes are made the weight is enough for it not to move anywhere im sure your right under normal driving it won't but "What if"? sudden braking, or even a crash. tristan560
Make sure you bolt the subs to the wall VERY well. You dont want one in the back of the head during a crash. Because whats in motion stays in motion till it meets an opposible force...your head. Colin - STAPUFT
X2 on the bolts! Big big bolts. If you have places where there were seats, then mount them to that, because you have to figure that if the car company made the seats strong enough to stay in place during a crash, then they would be a good place to mount your box. Then do any overkill you need to do past that- seeing that a box will weigh more than a person+seat combo. On my build: See the places on the floor with no carpet- the painted white parts? That is where the seats mount... One of the bolts. Before I was done, I took these tiny things out and put in more bolts that were bigger. No sense in making it through a car crash and then getting killed by your sub or box. It would give a bad name to us all.....
