AlpineGuy87
Ok, so I want to turn up the bass.. but I want to know which is better to do... Turn up the bass on the head unit OR Turn up the gain/bass boost on the Amp? I was thinking, if i turned up the bass on the head unit, the bass may become unclear, not as crisp, or start to get distorted... and i was thinking if i turned up the gain on the amp i would be increasing the bass and it would stay clear and crisp but it would run the amp harder than i should.. so I want to know what you guys think I should do.. I can turn up the gain cuz right now its up only 15% and I can turn up the bass on my head unit cuz its at -6 (mainly becaues i dont want my crappy components shooting bass..) Any input..? Thanks!! bassINyoFACE
i would leave the HU at zero and use your bass knob/gain on amp to add your bass. if your HU is at -6 because of your components spitting out heavy bass notes (not good) you really need to add a crossover to them (usually components sets all come with one) your bass potential is really low because of the -6 setting also try using your fader on HU to fade in the fronts with your HU set at 0 which is perfect setting hope this helps good luck Quote I got banned for being an ignorant ass....and im a dickhole i like men, michael jackson and large sausages

AlpineGuy87
Yea, see i dont want to go to 0 bass level rather stay in negatives. I dont like 0 cuz when i turn up the volume to 20 and those components are going to blowout or sound like crap... it sounds really ba with the bass up that loud. i will keep the bass set at -5 cuz it sounds really bad when its turned up cuz those components are stock and they dont have crossovers and they sound pretty bad with bass i want my components set at putting out the highs and a bit of mids. the lows i want coming out the back from the subs.. so.. i dont know its a tough call then cuz im sure i should prolly have my bass up on my HU so the bass is better and clearer.. I guess now i have to get better components... lol.. jeez.. lol.. Quote 06 SCION tC
Eddy722
Just get a crossover it cost almost nothing.. or put the "bassblocker" things on your speakers to filter out lower frequencies.
AlpineGuy87
where can i get those at and how should they be wired? pull out head unit? attach to the speaker wires? Quote 06 SCION tC
