Hey guys, i was just playing around with my system earlier. For those that don't know, running 2 12" FI Q's on an eD nine.1 amp (600 watts ea). I've been told that i should place them in a larger box and feed them more current, but the thing i just noticed is that my headlights flicker along with any other electrical light source in the car (roof light, trunk light). So my question here is, how do i stop that from happening? Kind of new to the whole car audio thing, and improving this will definitley be one step foward to the system. I was concerned on voltage drop when i saw the headlights flicker, and its never a good sign. Of course, the louder i turn the volume up, the harder the flicker will be. i notice serious problems when i have the deck turned at about 3/4 volume, and i have the amp gain set just under half. So all in all, what are some solutions to solve this problem and should i really feed the subs more than 600 watts each? i'm afraid i might blow them :x, thanks for any help!

Start with the Big3 if that doesnt solve it Upgrade the Battery under the Hood, if your still dimming then you would want to get a HO alt.

big three and id add a cheap battery in the trunk to help the nine.1 . maybe a hc-800 for 120$ or less of amazon. im not familiar with XS batts YET .... :)

i drove with my ac , inside lights , fog lamps and headlights off for a week when i first got my system without the batts :) car dimmed so hard it stalled at redlights if i beat to hard....

yea i had my newb moments :)

and i really wouldnt worry about a alt upgrade on that amount of power. is ur front stage amped ?

Yeah, i'm too worried about getting a better alternator, and would throwing another battery in trunk really help? wouldn't i have to hook that one up to the alternator to keep it charged

of corse you would. just use you power and ground cables that you already have in the car. connect them to the back battery then run wires from the battery to your amps.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

definitately do the big 3 first, theres a tutorial on how if your not sure its stickied under the electical and wiring section. after that if you still have a problem add a second battery. i would go either kinetic or xs power, both make some really nice stuff. any idea exactly how bad your voltage drop is? you have a vvoltmeter in your car, or on your amp or anything?

oh and about the second battery, yea run a + from the battery onder the hood to your battery in the trunk and that'll take care of it since that bat is already connected to the alt. also about blowing the subs... im pretty sure rms power for a q is 1000 so you could feed them some more juice. but take care of your electical 1st, no point of giving more power if your just gunna starve the amp of voltage, then you blow stuff
