loganberry
so i had a friend call me up and told me he had a friend in town from outa state and he wanted to hear my system cause he had one in his car and blah blah, well he heard mine and then i checked his out...it was all older fosgate stuff from 02 or so and looked good and sounded ok, i told him to pop the trunk so i can take a look at the equipment and he left it on low...i could tell something was wrong right there, so i asked him to turn it up some more..one sub moved significantly more than the other...i asked him if he knew the coil configuration and he said no..then i looked at his amp and everything looked good, it was a older fosgate 2 channel too (i forgot the brand)...so i told him to come over and let me check some more stuff...hooked up the dmm to the subs...one was 3.8ohm, other was 8.1 ohm...im thinkin what the hell is going on, so i pulled the subs out and yup, one sub is 8 ohm, one sub is 4 ohm, each sub in its own chamber...i showed him whats going on and he has no idea bout stereos more than how to turn it up...well he said best buy sold him all this stuff as "set" back in 02-03, got a few pictures of the subs, they came out shitty but they look like pretty good subs, give me some input on them My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk

loganberry
it was a 2 channel amp, dual chamber box...but definetly a noticeable difference with power to the subs...he said he wanted so more "bump" so he is going to pick up some cvr's from a shop tommorro and said if i install it for him and set his amp i can have these subs...are they pretty good, and if i wired them together what would the coil config be, 5ohm? lol My F-150 Build GET ON THE BANDWAGON what if they tried messing with the amps when the subs werent louder hahah jk

But the 4 ohm sub would always be recieving more power than the 8 ohm sub. raytard
but on the flip side, people who go to best buy wouldnt notice that, even after what, 7 years of owning it? if youre not into it enough to know that a place that sells vacuum cleaners, refrigerators and the newest miley cirus cd ISNT a good place to buy car audio (let alone trust them to install it), you're their ideal customer, along with 99% of the world.
