Basshead08 Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 Not thinking about doing this or anything just curious. What effect would having an enclosure with two ports same port area on each but different depths? So technically a ported box tuned to two different frequencies. Again just curious as to what would happen. System tear out has begun...Out with the old i have a iq of 128 i graduated at the top of my class tell me how im reatrded you are the 1 thats dumb as hell you can't even spell Look at the underlined text hahahahahahahaha I think of it as the virgin losing the virginity technique not just jumping in to it, and pounding away, but going at it slowly over time, to get to that full extreme

Basshead08 Posted October 17, 2009 Author Report Posted October 17, 2009 Idk like I said not thinking of trying it just thought about while I was at work today and figured if anybody would know, it would be someone on here. Ben Building Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 I think that one port will loose pressure sooner than the other on the lows. For example, if one port is tuned to say 28 and the other 38, then at under 38hz, there will be no back pressure to support your woofer cone. All the air will stream right out of the short port. This will lower mechanical power handling DRAMATICALLY because your sub will basically be playing in free air below the tuning of the shortest port. As far as how it will sound above that, I would guess pretty loud above tuning, but very nonlinear in response. That is only a guess, however, as I have never actually tuned one vented box to two different frequencies. lol Very interesting question, though. Someone else chime in on this one....
