Demo402
I made a custom PCI-E cable and i was wondering if it would even be worth trying? I have made some 4 pin molex to sata's before and they have worked fine but the wire gauges are alot different. its like 18awg to 3x 14-16awg. And im kinda scared to plug it in, obliviously I'm gonna cover it with electrical tape before i try it but anyone think this will work? Soulman07
Plug it in your powersupply and test the voltages coming out on the other end? here's what yours looked like in comparison to mine. It should work just fine. S15_Silvia
well im gonna plug it in and hopefully it works Jeebus. Before you try that, at least please let me know what power supply you have. What you're planning is a temporary fix at best...usually those adapters have two molex connectors on them so that the graphics card can draw from separate +12V rails on the power supply. Boon
There's a good reason there's 3 runs of wire to that plug. You know how we laugh at people who split 1 run of 8 gauge to run 3 amps off? That's what you're doing here... But yeah, if your PSU doesn't have a PCI-E plug on it already chances are it's gonna struggle with a decent card. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
