I'd go with something like a Crx, Acura Integra, ZX3, Civic hatch, or even a Mazda MX3 if you can find a decent one. All of those cars get loud and have less rattle than a trunk car. They are small and tight with a relatively large square space to play around in. Also, there are tons of cheap aftermarket parts for these cars.
