Recommended Posts

Okay first of all let me introduce my self Im Danny, 18 (hi nice to meet yall!)

im a mechanic at Toyota, i do all kinds of work there from small as simple maintenance to electrical problems, engine problems, the whole 9 yards

now i understand electricity on a car, i undserstand ohms law, i get how to figure out all that

but damn when it comes to figuring out how to pick the right amplifier for my speakers it just doesn't make sense!!!

ive been stalking this forum for a damn long time before i even bothered to register.

and i just wanna say i have learned a shitton from reading around and have seen some amazing custom work by you guys.

now for my question!

i just bought 3 kicker 12" l7s with Dual Voice Coils

here are the specs straight from kickers site

Size (IN.,CM) 12, 30.5

Impedance (OHMS) 2 or 4 DVC

Max Rec Amplifier Power (WATTS PEAK/RMS)* 1500/750

Sensitivity (dB 1w/1m) 88.6

Frequency Response (Hz) 20-100

now i have a sealed enclosure that my dad and i made almost ready to go for these speakers... problem is i cant figure out what amp or amps to buy to power these suckers, the correct way.

can someone educate me on figuring out these amplifiers! thanks!

thanks in advance!! i have msn if any one would bother to talk on that

what is the ohm load on the coils, 2 or 4

?

If Morgan Freeman narrated a story on how great AIDS is, I would be captivated and tempted to contract it myself. His voice just fills my soul with warm fuzzies and puppy tears.

He has NO idea and may have a touch of autism to be honest.

Is this guy real or is he joking? i actually mistook him for a lesbian in that demo video

Wanted to mess around with a box for the garage. Was thinking 4 6x9 in 4 cube at like 30 hz...

These are the things that make me lol

If you do the series/parallel wiring with dual 4 ohms you'll have a 2.67 ohm load and with dual 2 ohms you'll have a 1.34 ohm load.

you can do 2.666 or .666

Its gonna be tough to find something to do around 2000-3000 rms at 2.666, so i'd shoot for finding a sundown 2000 and run it at .666 ;)

That kicker amp you posted would be nice, if you don't mind that price it would be a great amp for your subs.
