the name of the game is overkill

our job for the electrical system is to reduce the resistance from amp(s) ground/rear batt(s) to the alt ground... thats the goal... to create the shortest path

so yes, use it

Decaf is correct.

if you grounded your amps to the frame, add a wire from the frame rail to the alt -, also from the battery negative to the frame rail.
