EricR Posted May 24, 2007 Author Report Posted May 24, 2007 yeh i know man.....i think my next upgrade is going to be an alt from iraggi......might be a few months though i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
EricR Posted May 24, 2007 Author Report Posted May 24, 2007 well i think i fucked up my amp.....wired it to 1 ohm and now the amp wont come on......well turns out it just protected but it was a long protect....didnt come on for a few hours but now its fuckin poundin.....i had it on hypnotize and cranked the gain about half way and turned the volume up and my roof started flexin like a inch crazy shit.....very impressed with Fi.......vids tomorrow i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
EricR Posted May 25, 2007 Author Report Posted May 25, 2007 ok heres some vids...... also i have a question......its wired to 1 ohm on my amp so im guessin about 1800-2000 watts rms since it is 1500 rms at 2 ohms......but just after about 5 minutes or so of full crank the cone on the btl is gettin real hot......why is this? It could be that the amp isn't designed to be ran @ 1ohm, so it may be sending out a signal which has the voltage too high... Not sure, maybe Mr. Meade would like to take a peak at this Q. 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR.
EricR Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 probably so.....im going to take it out in teh morning and wire it to 4 ohms.....might not hit as hard but at least i wont fuck nuttin up untill i get another 1500.1bd.....also when i get another 1500.1bd to put each amp on each coil....not strapped....will that work? how will i be sure that each amp is putting out the exact same to each voice coil or will it really matter as long as they are pretty close on the gains....thanks i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

David Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 yea run the amp @ 2ohm, I had issues with it @ 1ohm when I had mine, I killed one of meades modded 1501's when I hooked it up @ .35 ohms it super slammed for a about 30 secs or so then it filled my mustang full of magic smoke.

David Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 the bd1501 are 2ohm some people have had luck with em @ 1ohm, you have to feed em alot of juice.
