Try charging the battery then check how fast it draws with the key in ACC and again with key on but engine not running and see how fast it drops. You might have something on the motor side grounding out when you run it.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

Did you also swap gauge clusters? did you leave the harness from the 95 running through the dash? The gauge cluster actually completes the circuit for the battery light on the dash. if the wiring is not right or the pinout on the cluster is not the same the alternator wont charge. My 95 c1500 had a loose connection at the plug the cluster sits into and would not charge all the time.

you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol

not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be.

No cluster in the truck at this moment though I drove it like this for over a week with no problems. I'll put it in and see what happens and thanks for everyone's help. I'll post what I find :)

Put the cluster in.....everything is working!!!

Results as follows:

- At idle on the battery 13.65 V

- At 2000rpm on battery 14.25 V

- At idle under heavy load on the battery 12.5 V (Jumps around from 12.4 to 12.6)

- At 2000rpm under heavy load on the battery 13.6 V

Also I found the voltage to be the exact same reading on the alternator as the battery.

Thanks for the help :drinks:
