Decaf
get audacity import the song zoom in a few times using the magnifying glass with + highlight .5-1 second of the note u want go to analyze plot spectrum change 512 to 16384 change linear to log Scroll cursor over gragh and match the peak with the cursor and there is ur peak hz and db level A db level of 20+ is loud, i try to get mine at 23-26db... and sine waves are whatever u have If u have a 0db sine wave its 30db on audacity(max)... if u use -3db it would be 27db on audacity By highlighting such a little amout u get a more accurate db level than highlighting 20seconds or more since more notes occur it averages them out You can easily see once u zoom if the data exceeds the top and bottom (clipping) and determine the severity of it, along with any other flats spots that should stand out Edited November 15, 2009 by Decaf
