windows 7 ram problem

Recommended Posts

Whats the point? Not trying to be a dick, but his FIX is to ENABLE memory remapping, and he is fixed. He just needs to find that option in the bios ................../end thread.

For the record, a PC CAN post AND boot with faulty RAM. Sometimes, the only way to know for sure is to test it

using tools like memtest86.

Yes, that is true, but more times then NOT, if your having a mem failure, you WILL have a post issue every now and then. Fuck, back in the day when the Asus P5B-DLX was king of the hill, my G.Skill cherry picked DDR2 sticks would drop like flies on that board. Seemed like dimm3 slot would overvolt upon shut down, and kill that stick EVERYTIME. Just like "MOST" mem failures I can speak of, getting the PC to POST was a pain in the neck. Take all ram out but leave 1 stick in DIMM4 to get it to post, go into bios, set Vdimm, then install the rest of the dimms......bingo! I went thru so many RMA's of ram with G.Skill cause that revision of the p5b-dlx....... Thankfully G.Skill was 100% cool with it, and ASus as well.

I love my staffie :good:

So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
