looking for good sub and amp upgrade

Recommended Posts

How's it going guys,

Right now I have a 13W7 and jl 1000/1 in the back of my 03 Expedition.

I want to upgrade my system. I don't think I like the W7 as much as I thought I would. It's better for lows than highs.

I'm looking for a upgrade to about 2000w. I think my 1000/1 is broken. but thats another story.

I'd like to go with either a 12 or a 15 that has good SPL and SQ.

Let me know what you guys think I should go with.

P.S. I've been looking into the FI BTL but I don't know if it has good spl and sq at the same time.

I think of it as the virgin losing the virginity technique

not just jumping in to it, and pounding away, but going at it slowly over time, to get to that full extreme

Look at RE Audio SXX12 or SXX15 and a USAmps MD1D. Get a box tuned at 33htz. It will be loud.

what box is your current sub in?

in the 2000rms range i have a tc sounds lms4000 it gets loud and sounds nice doing so, it will pretty much rape a JLw7 which i also have in every part of sound.

if you want to do 2 subs off 2k rms i would recommend 2 hertz hx300d 15's ....great company great sound and still gets loud off lower power then even 2krms.

either decision this or someone elses recommendation your box is going to play the biggest role in everything

DD

the 35 series should do well on that power.

the 95 series might be too much for that power

possibly 2 of the 25 series

pick your size

they are a bit pricey but they will take everything you have and then some

Hmm. thanks for the recommendations.

Also, I would like to not go over $800 for the sub and amp.

I was thinking 1 FI BTL 15 in a ported box and Hifonics BXi 2610D (mostly because It's 2600w at 1ohm stable).
