Mellow18
i was wondering if anyone had the same alpine deck,or an alpine with the same options. 23 out of 35 is usually what i set my volume to i currently have my subwoofer set to 14,bass 2,treb 6,and my amp gains are still down,im going to get my amp scoped soon. what i was wondering is,what should the subwoofer system be set to? has the option of system 1,or 2 or for these alpine decks, what is the best way to go about setting them? 2001 Black Monte Carlo SS chrome 20'' (1) Alpine i-9881 deck-ipod- (2) DC lvl 4XL 18''s-Walled- (1) DAT Hellfire - 2500.1-fused- (1) D3400 XS Power battery-fused- (2) CDT 6.5 comp (X) pioneer 6x9 set (1) RF T-400.4 (1) DC POWER ALT INSTALLED BY ROB FTW,Big3 (1) Viper 5901 Alarm + killer yorkies and chihuahas [EdgarCervantes] 4:31 pm: im in my room and out of nowere i hear bass im like oh shit sombody has bass in this city, i look out the window and its my mom bumping Gorilla Zoe

soundbwoy
I have the 9886r, and all I have found with subwoofer setting is the system 1 setting turns the subs up with the volume equally, but system 2 makes the subs louder at a lower level. Other than that I didnt notice any other real difference, but thats just my opinion. Hope this helps

Hope this helps yeah thats why i made this post, and im aware that there is a search engine on the website but if i search "alpine" or a lot of stuff i try and search never pops up... so at higher volume, like arround 23,system 1 and 2 are equally loud?

AI James
on that alpine unit you can tune to 30 of 35 with no clipping imo dont use eihter subwoofer option tune with all that stuff off and the bass/treble flat adding to bass and treble usually just adds chances of distortion. qu1cks1lver56
you have to use one of the 2 subwoofer options. its just how it attenuates the subs with the volume. id leave the bass and treble settings flat too. i use system one on my alpine, and the subs on 8 out of 15 First Gen Xterra: Always changing DNX 690HD RF 360.3RF T3002RF T4004RF T10001bdSilver Flute 6.5"s Tang Band 1" TweetersSundown X18 in 7cubes net tuned to 32hz Trust me .25 Blows your Load. soundbwoy
I just left mine on system 1 and put the bass on plus 4 and sub level on 8. I didnt notice system 1 or 2 being any different at higher volumes, just at lower volumes.
AI James
when your sub is at 0 on that deck does the sub still even play? the subwoofer setting should just attenuate the sub not distort it in any way...im not near the unit thats just like yours that i play with so i cant look at the moment ideally have the subwoofer output turned all the way up bass at 0 treble at 0 then tune to your max volume...then the subwoofer volume will never have a chance of being over your setting and damaging the woofer that you set for the certain setting..
