Guest Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 isolators make the amps run off "A" battery and charge the "B" battery. when the A battery's voltage goes down past a certain point, the isolator will switch so the alternator charges A and system runs off of B. making your alternator charge a drained battery is HELL on it and causes alternators to go out alot faster. in short, dont get one and its not needed.
