HHR Ed Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 So lets say in the trunk of a decent size car, you think cone area would take it then?I have the space for basicly any 1 18 or 2 10s. For a Honda Accord sized car I would say 2) 12s would have the most potential. 18s are very large and need a large enclosure, I think its too much to operate properly in a trunk. ANd yes, there is a such thing as too much cone area. Hunters21w Posted December 10, 2009 Author Report Posted December 10, 2009 I am kind of liking the 2 10s idea simply on the 18 could possibly be too much for my trunk in a sense. I have to face the sub up and I know thats def not ideal for gettin numbers. With 2 10s or 2 12s I would be able to face forward or backward. I tried reading forevrbumpins quarter wave thread but could really understand it. Anyone care to dumb it down? lol Quote 06 Police TahoeHU- Pioneer 80prsAmp- Crossfire 8kSub- 4 15" Crossfire xs v2sWire- 1/0 Knu/AudiotechnixAlt- 3 Mechman SMD 340sBatts- 6 XS Power 3100s, 2400

(Im savin up, still got some ways to go tho) a single 15 is good too. An 18 is usually too tall to fit straight without doing an angled baffle and angled baffles can hurt SPL Quote Ed Lester ShowtimeSPL Host Showtime Electronics Video MarketingMy old Build Loghttp://www.stevemead...08/#entry511451http://www.youtube.com/showtimespl 5 time dB Drag Finalist Last ride 2007 HHR, current dB 153.5 and bass race 149.4 dB. 153.0 dB on music New Ride, 2008 HHR SS. Hunters21w Posted December 10, 2009 Author Report Posted December 10, 2009 Nice thread btw, never been on that forum. Never thought about it as the cone scooping and pushing air. I know I lose alot of output by facing the sub up at the trunk lid. Anyone have any insight on quarterwaves? maybe for some 10s?
