Amp For Mids And Highs

Recommended Posts

you can use a 4 channel. run the front channel to your 6.5's and tweets using passive crossovers to split the signal. Use the rear channel to power the by-nines.

mmmkk....that'll work. Any advice on finding some crossovers? The speakers are the Infinity REF9622i 6x9's --Infinity REF1021t Tweeters and Infinity REF6022i 6.5's. The crossovers are the things im having a problem finding.

Wait....Since the tweeters say they come with a 2,500 Hz passive in-line crossover, wouldnt I be able to just hook them up to the front channel along with the 6.5's and not have to worry about anything?

No you would be getting the wrong ohm load, and giving a full range signal to your 6.5"s...

I'm guessing both the speaker and tweet are both 4 ohm, so you'd have a 2 ohm load (which is fine for almost all 4 channel amps), and the passive x-over would work for the tweet, and then you would just use the HPF on the amp to filter the 6.5's.

It'd work fine IMO

check the ohm load of the tweets with the inline crossover...ill bet it will not show any ohms! usually the inline bass blockers dont let the tweet change the ohm load when installed parallel with the mids. most likely u will still show 4 ohms. if your 4 channel amp has a adjustable high pass filter u can just hook the 6.5 up and use the amps filter for those then parallel the tweet with the bass blocker after the 6.5.

Getting confused haha.....SO, the speakers are both 2 ohm. and if I use a seperate channel for the 6x9's then hook up both the tweeters and 6.5's to the same channel and just set the amp's filter to HPF it wouldnt hurt the speakers? and they should sound fine?
