Alright i have 2 memphis mcd-1000's on a maxxlink.

When i was Adjusting the output of each amp I just about fell out of the car .

with the gain on each amp turned at 3 o clock I went from there.

I turned the 65hz test tone on the maxxlink on and ac voltage output on just 1 of these amps was 51.2 volts AC

but to my amazment it was just one it was both.

these amps are rated @ 1100 watts rms .

now if going by the chart is correct how are these little things doing it ?

Clipped to fawwwwwwwwwk plus your DMM is reading peak not RMS.

So divide that by the square root of 2 and then turn them down until they're not clipping any more.

Voltage of an AC wave will rise considerably when the wave squares off.

In conclusion, not to burst your bubble but no, your amps aren't doing 2.7kw each ;(

10.x volts fo' life!

just because the gain is turned up that high does not necessarily mean that's the power it will put out. i could crank my 3500D's and if i went by output voltage alone you'd be amazed at what they'd say ;) with some massive clipping. if the amps didnt shut off before then

EDIT: ^^what he said :)

Thats why you set gains with an oscope.
