Boon Posted December 22, 2009 Report Share Posted December 22, 2009 Amps are dumb. They don't 'know' anything. All an amp can do is create a voltage difference between 2 points. If you put a resistance (i.e. a speaker) between those points it will cause a current to flow. The amp supplies this current. The amount of current that can flow is limited by the resistance and by how different the voltage is between the terminals of the amp. 10.x volts fo' life!
